Ribemont is a village in the Department of the Aisne, 14 kilometres
east of St. Quentin. (There is another Ribemont cemetery in the Department
of the Somme) The Communal Cemetery was extended by the Germans, but the
German graves, 320 in number, have been removed. There are now over 30,
1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site in two plots. Of these, a
small number are unidentified and a special memorial is erected to a
soldier believed to be buried among them. Other special memorials record
the names of three United Kingdom soldiers, buried in Monceau-Neuf
Communal Cemetery German Extension, whose graves could not be found.
