Montcony Churchyard

Montcony is a village 10 kilometres north-east of the town of Louhans in the Department of the Saône-et-Loire. The churchyard is in the centre of the village and the eight graves are to the right of the entrance. There are six British and two Canadian airmen who died on the 24th Oct. 1942. There is also a memorial to the airmen at the crash site on the main road through the village.

Target: Genova, Italy
Incident: Shot down by German night fighter on 24th Oct. 1942,       
and crashed near the château at Montcony
