Son of Alfred Allen, of 3, Jennings St., Alexandria, New South Wales. Native of South Brisbane, Queensland.
His headstone bears the inscription "Far From The Land Of The Wattle At Rest"
Studio portrait of 232 Driver (Dvr) Charles Allen, 1st Field Artillery Brigade, of Alexandria, NSW. A plumber prior to enlisting in August 1914, Dvr Allen embarked from Sydney, with the 2nd Battery, a board HMAT Argyllshire (A8) on 18 October 1914. After further training and service in Egypt and Suez, he arrived in France for service on the Western Front on 27 March 1916. Dvr Allen was killed in action at Flers, France on 12 November 1916. He was 22 years of age.

Studio portrait possibly of 8A Private (Pte) William Bailey, 31st Battalion, of Beulah, Vic. Pte Bailey enlisted on 9 June 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Wandilla on 9 November 1915. He also served with the 8th Brigade Headquarters. He was killed in action on 25 October 1916 in France.

A labourer before enlisting in September 1915, Pte Banks left Australia for Egypt with the 14th Reinforcements of the 16th Battalion in February 1916. Transferred to the 48th Battalion in April 1916 as part of the 'doubling-up' of the AIF, Pte Banks spend four months with the Battalion in France before he was killed in action at Mouquet Farm on 31 August 1916, age 25.

Studio portrait of 6325 Gunner Harold George Carter, 4th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB) from Warrnambool, Victoria. A 19 year old draper and member of the militia prior to enlisting in the AIF on 24 July 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 10th Battery from Melbourne on 18 November 1915 aboard HMAT Wiltshire. After a brief period of illness in Egypt, he joined the FAB in France where he was killed in action on 4 November 1916.

His headstone bears the inscription "So Young, Bright & Loving Yet Called Away So Soon. Thy Will Be Done"
Studio portrait of 1936 Private (Pte) Walter Harold George, 21st Battalion from St Kilda, Victoria. An 18 year old farmer prior to enlisting on 21 June 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 3rd Reinforcements from Melbourne aboard HMAT Anchises (A68) on 26 August 1915. After serving at Gallipoli, he went on to serve on the Western Front where he was killed in action on 18 November 1916 and buried in the AIF Burial Ground at Flers, France. His brothers 5603 Pte Frank Wilfred George, 22nd Battalion and 5604 Pte Arthur Ebenezer George, 21st Battalion also served on the Western Front and returned to Australia.

Studio portrait of 3337 Private (Pte) Herbert Joel Harbour, 11th Reinforcements, 8th Battalion, of Beaconsfield, Vic. Pte Harbour enlisted on 12 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 11 October 1915. On 17 March 1916 he was transferred to the 15th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB) and then to the 6th FAB on 27 January 1917. Pte Harbour was killed in action on 27 February 1917 at Pozières, France, whilst serving with the 6th FAB.

Studio portrait of 1954 Private Walter Leo Lussick, 45th Battalion of Auburn, NSW. A clerk prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Warilda (A69) on 22 April 1916. He was wounded on 19 January 1917 when struck by a shell in a trench at Flers, France. He died while being stretchered to the casualty station, aged 20.
