Son of Rhodes Kennedy Calvert and Rose Calvert, of Leeds. Solicitor, LL.B.(London).
Lieutenant Geoffrey Clifford Calvert, Yorkshire Light Infantry, the secretary of the Leeds Chamber of Commerce, died on January 15, at a casualty clearing station in France, of typhoid and pneumonia. He was the third of Mr. and Mrs. Calvert's four sons to die on active service.
Captain Reginald Cullen Calvert, "C" Company, West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) died of wounds on 15th July 1916, aged 28 and is buried in Puchevillers British Cemetery in France.
24702 John Cyril Calvert, 13th Bn. Canadian Infantry was reported missing during a gas attack at Ypres on 22nd April 1915, aged 24 and he is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing.

Born in Louth, Lincs, enlisted in Lincoln with The Sherwood Foresters. Trained as a signaller then transferred to the North Staffords.
His headstone bears the inscription; "To Memory Ever Dear."
He was the youngest of three brothers and the son of Alf and Emma Woodward of 40 Maiden Row, Louth, Lincs. His other two brothers Clement Stones Woodward, my grandfather served with the Royal Field Artillery and the Royal Garrison Artillery and Arthur Woodward served with the Royal Engineers, both survived the war.
