Location Information

​Bavincourt is a village and commune in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, a little North of the main road from Doullens to Arras. Five soldiers from the United Kingdom, who fell in May, 1916, and March, 1917, are buried in two groups in the Communal Cemetery, near the entrance.


Burial Details

66590 Gunner Charles John Joseph Baker, 102 Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, died 29th May 1916, aged 24. Son of Charles John and Kate Baker, of Holly Cottages, Hatchet Lane, Wirfield, Windsor.

20792 Lance Corporal H. W. Dashwood, 9th Bn. Leicestershire Regiment, died 16th May 1916.

925246 Gunner James Storey Jenkins, A Battery, 280 Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, died 21st March 1917, aged 25. Son of Francis Samuel and Caroline Amelia Jenkins, of 18, Craven Park Rd., South Tottenham, London. Native of Stamford Hill, London.​

393054 Rifleman Herbert Stone, 9th Bn. London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles), died 29th March 1917, aged 33. Husband of K. M. Stone, of 106, Northwold Rd., Upper Clapton, London.

17078 Bombardier E. Walsh, D Battery, 125 Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, died 19th May 1916.
