The Courtrai Newfoundland Memorial, Kortrijk in Belgium, just outside Courtrai on the road to Ghent, is the only caribou memorial in Belgium. In his rocky eminence, the stag commemorates the Royal Newfoundland Regiment's crossing of the Lys River under British divisional command.
