Location Information

Compiègne is a town in the Department of the Oise. Compiègne South Cemetery is located some 300 metres off the road to Senlis at the end of a side road (Rue Rouget de Lisle).


World War One Burials


Lieutenant William Kerr Ames, Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment), died 16th September 1914, aged 23. Son of Mrs. Florence L. Ames, of 29, Clifton Gardens, Folkestone, and the late Thomas Ames.

8717 Private S. Balfe, 1st Bn. East Lancashire Regiment, died 9th September 1914.

20359 Corporal Harry William Gibson, "B" Squadron, 6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers), died 26th March 1918, aged 33. Son of William and Elizabeth Gibson, of Chelmsford, Essex; husband of Alice Gibson, of 798, Romford Rd., Manor Park, Essex.

7158 Private Alfred Ernest Rogers, 1st Bn. East Lancashire Regiment, died 12th September 1914, aged 29. Son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Rogers.


World War Two Burials



N/2295 Lance Corporal J. Khunou, Native Military Corps, South African Forces, died 30th June 1944, aged 50. Son of Rasekab and Mathlodi Khunou; husband of Terefina Khunou, of Saulspoort, Transvaal, South Africa.
