Eupen is a large town in the Liège of Belgium. The Communal Cemetery and German plot are located North of the town.
Historical Information
Eupen Communal Cemetery contains a separate German plot with 122 war graves from the First World War and 37 from the Second World War.
After the Second World War the graves were to be taken to a larger war cemetery, but the people of Eupen objected to this because they did not want to disturb the peace of the dead. The people of Eupen take care of the maintenance and upkeep of the German plot.
