Location Information

The Three isolated graves of soldiers belonging to the 2nd Bn. London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers) are located in a field by the track leading from Combles to Faffemont Farm some 400 metres from Guards' Cemetery.

Combles is a large village 16.5 kilometres east of Albert and 13 kilometres south of Bapaume. Guards' cemetery is on the south-western outskirts of the village, 50 metres from a by-road leading towards Maurepas.


Burial Details

Captain Richard Heumann, Mentioned in Despatches, 2nd Bn. London Regiment, Royal Fusiliers, died 10th September 1916, aged 29. Son of Hermann and Pauline Heumann, of 22, Belsize Avenue, Hampstead, London.​

304 Company Sergeant Major B. Mills, 
2nd Bn. London Regiment, Royal Fusiliers, died 10th September 1916, aged 36. Volunteer Long Service Medal. Son of the late Jane Mills.

2267 Serjeant, A. W. Torrance, "B" Company, 2nd Bn. London Regiment, Royal Fusiliers, died 10th September 1916, aged 24. Son of Mr and Mrs F.G.E. Torrance of 4, Ashdown St., Kentish Town, London.
