During the Second World War, in 1940, No.9 Casualty Clearing Station was at Beuvry, about 3 kilometres away from Fouquieres, and some burials from this hospital were made in the churchyard extension.
Fouquieres Churchyard Extension contains 387 Commonwealth burials of the First World War and 29 from the Second World War. There are also five German war graves.
Casualty Details: UK 387, Germany 3, Total Burials: 390.
The extension was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Arthur James Scott Hutton
