Fouquières-lès-Lens is a village on the east side of Lens, beyond Sallaumines.
History Information
The Communal Cemetery was used and extended by the enemy, and in the North corner of the older part are the graves of two soldiers from the United Kingdom who fell in October, 1918, and one Canadian soldier who fell in November, 1917.

359506 Sapper Joseph Norman Bentley, 511th Field Company, Royal Engineers, died 18th October 1918, aged 28. Son of Joseph and Elizabeth Bentley, of 24, Bersham Rd., Wrexham.
Lieutenant William John Scott Laidlaw, M. M. 5th Bn. Canadian Infantry, died 27th November 1917.
S/15295 Rifleman J. Napper, Rifle Brigade posted to London Regiment (Post Office Rifles), died 18th October 1918.
