Bouchavesnes-Bergen is a small village in the Somme region of France. The Monument is located in the centre of the village on the D. 1017.
Historical Information
A rich Norwegian ship-builder, Haakon Wallen,who had visited the area asked Foch to nominate a devastated village to receive Norwegian donations. In acknowledgement, the village added the benefactor’s place of birth to its name, & installed his portrait on the Mairie.
