FRETIN COMMUNAL CEMETERY

Location Information
Fretin is a village 10 kilometres south-south-east of Lille, a large town in the north of France. From the Hotel de Ville in Fretin, head north on the D145 towards Lesquin. The Communal Cemetery is about 200 metres on the left opposite a cafe. The Commonwealth plot will be found to the right of the entrance towards the middle of the cemetery.
History Information
The graves are those of soldiers who died in the 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station at the end of October and early in November, 1918. There are 21, 1914-18 and 6, 1939-45 war casualties commemorated in this site.
