A farmer and labourer prior to enlisting in July 1915, Pte Adams embarked from Sydney with the 4th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Argyllshire (A8) on 30 September 1915. After further training in Egypt, he arrived in France for service on the Western Front on 25 March 1916. He was wounded in action at Pozieres, France, by a gun shot wound to the face, on 2 August 1916. After recovery and leave in England, he returned to the front on 10 September 1917. On 29 September 1917, he was killed in action near Zonnebeke, Ypres, Belgium. Pte Adams was 23 years of age.

Son of Albert N. and Louisa S. Alchin, of Waratah St., Gunning, New South Wales.

Formerly a mail driver, Pte Alchin enlisted on 26 April 1916 and as a member of the 3rd Reinforcements, he embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard HMAT Anchises (A68) on 24 August 1916. He served on the Western Front where he was killed in action during the battle of Passchendaele (third battle of Ypres) on 12 October 1917. He was aged 17 years and 11 months.
