Location Information
The village of Obigies is located north of the town of Tournai off the N50. From the motorway E17 turn off at junction 2 onto the N50 direction Pecq. At the town of Pecq turn left by the church into Rue Albert Premier. Follow this road over the river to the T junction. Turn right here, direction Obigies. Follow this road to the village and at the start of the village turn right into Rue De Cimetiere. The graves are located to the left of the cemetery by the wall.

Historical Information

Obigies Communal Cemetery contains five Commonwealth burials of the First World War, all men of the 59th Division who died during the Advance to Victory in November 1918.

265559 Private G. Cuff, 11th Bn. Somerset Light Infantry, died 3rd November 1918, aged 45. Son of Henry and Elizabeth Cuff, of 146, Acreman St., Sherborne, Dorset.

99172 Serjeant Albert Edward Roy Michon, 2nd/6th Bn Durham Light Infantry, died 4th November 1918, aged 24. Son of George Frederick and Annie Michon, of "Carbis," Glenalla Rd., Ruislip, Middlesex.
