Edward Allan emigrated from Law, Scotland to Stellarton, Nova Scotia in 1913.
He, and his best friend, 901652 Matthew B Murray, also from Law and a resident of Stellarton, attested on the same day, March 19, 1916. They were both killed the same morning, March 30, 1918 near Gavrelle, France, in an artillery barrage during the German Spring Offensive code-named Operation Mars.
