Location Information
Rambouillet is a town some 32 kilometres by road south-west of Versailles. The communal cemetery lies on the southern side of the town at the junction of the Rue G Lenotre and Rue de la Garenne.
The 1914-1918 Commonwealth war grave is in the French Military Plot, close to a Memorial of 1901. The 1939-1945 Commonwealth war graves of two British airmen are in the south-east corner of the cemetery, some 20 metres to the rear of the 1914-1918 war grave.
World War One Burial
6426 Private George Moyle, 1st Bn. South Wales Borderers, died 29th September 1914, aged 33. Husband of Louisa J. Reeves (formerly Moyle), of 80, Gilfach St., Bargoed, Glam. His headstone bears the inscription "The Just Shall Live By Faith"
World War Two Burials
1390455 Flight Sergeant Sydney Charles Fermor, Navigator in 96 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 17th May 1943, aged 24. Son of Charles and Eva Fermor, of Eythorne, Kent. His headstone bears the inscription "Tho'Smiling With The world Each Day In Silence We Remember Mum, Dad, Sister"
47772 Flying Officer Anthony Hunt, Navigator in 96 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 17th May 1943.
