ST. REMY-DU-NORD COMMUNAL CEMETERY

Location Information

St Remy-du-Nord (previously St Remi-du-Nord) is a village 7 kilometres south-west of the border town of Maubeuge. The Cemetery is to the south-west of the village on the road (D959) to Aulnoye-Aymeries.


Historical Information

St. Remy-du-Nord Communal Cemetery contains four Commonwealth burials of the First World War. The graves are located near to the North-East corner of the cemetery.


Burial Details

41095 Private Reginald James Green, 1st Bn. Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, died 8th November 1918, aged 19. Son of Agnes Green, of Shouldham, Downham, Norfolk, and the late James Green.

31940 Private Frank Harris, 1st Bn. Devonshire Regiment, died 7th November 1918, aged 18. Son of Henry Samuel Harris and Elizabeth Harris, of Acton, Langton Matravers, Dorset.

32205 Private Charles James Moreton, 1st Bn. Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, died 8th November 1918, aged 24. Son of Emmanuel Catherine Moreton, of 7, Charles St., Trealaw (Rhondda), Glam.

37579 Private Thomas Richard Williamson, "B" Company, 
1st Bn. Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, died 8th November 1918, aged 19. Son of Thomas and Sarah Williamson, of Grange Farm, Woolstone, Cheltenham.
