Location Information

Vaire-sous-Corbie is a village in the Department of the Somme 20 kilometres due east of Amiens. The communal cemetery contains four artillerymen of the Australian Imperial Forces all killed in 1918.

Burial Details


35270 Gunner John George Bayliff, 10th Brigade, Australian Field Artillery, died 8th August 1918, aged 19. Born at Bramley, Leeds, England. Son of John William and Clara Bayliff, of Perth, Western Australia.

1835 Driver L. Chandler, 10th Brigade, Australian Field Artillery, died 8th August 1918.

2340 Gunner Sydney John Dutton, 10th Brigade, Australian Field Artillery, died 8th August 1918, aged 22. Son of Henry and Eliza Priscilla Dutton, of 265, Gilles St., Adelaide, South Australia. Born at Walsall, England.

1856 Driver William Gordon Morrissey, 10th Brigade, Australian Field Artillery, died 8th August 1918, aged 23. Son of Patrick and Margaret Morrissey, of 4, McCully St., Ascot Vale, Victoria, Australia. Born at Dargalong, Victoria, Australia.
