Location Information

The location of the cemetery is: Avenue des Nations, 57970, Yutz.


Historical Information

Yutz Est Old Cemetery contains four Commonwealth burials of the First World War, all made from a Prisoners of War Camp after December1917.



Burial details

91662 Private Henry Richard Bird, 1st/6th Bn. Durham Light Infantry, died 2nd June 1918, aged 19. Son of Catherine Bird, of 97, St. Anne St., Birkenhead, and the late Henry Bird.

98873 Private E. Bousfield, 50th Bn. Machine Gun Corps (Infantry), died 27th November 1918. Son of Mrs. E. Bousfield, of 147, Back Burlington Rd., Leeds.

32811 William Frederick John Morris, 2nd Bn. South Lancashire Regiment, formerly 3808 Welsh Regiment, wounded at Bapaume, died of wounds on 2nd June 1918. Son of Jon and Lucy Morris, of 12, Westbourne Place, Mumbles, Swansea. Worked previously as a butcher in his family’s business.

29229 Private F. West, 4th Bn. Yorkshire Regiment, died 5th June 1918. 
Son of Mrs. E. West, of Etton, Beverley, Yorkshire.
