Location Information

Bertangles is approximately 7 miles north of Amiens, exit Amiens by the Avenue de l'Europe in the direction of Doullens, then follow the N25 direction, Arras, Bethune, Dunkerque, Poulainville and Doullens, after driving through Poulainville Bertangles is approximately 1.5 miles further on this road.


History Information

Bertangles Communal Cemetery contains one Commonwealth burial of the First World War.

Burial Details


Second Lieutenant James Arthur Miller, 24th Squadron, Royal Flying Corps and General List, died 28th March 1918, aged 24. Son of Charles David and Harriet Alice Miller, of 690, Westminster Drive, Pasadena, California, U.S.A. Born at Hawaii (Kona). His headstone bears the inscription "And Bright With Many An Angel And All The Martyr Throng"

 The original resting place of Baron Manfred Von Richthofen "The Red Baron", who's body was later moved to Fricourt German Cemetery before it was eventually re-interred in his families plot in Germany.
