Pilot in 207 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve
12th July 1943, aged 20.

Son of Ernest and Florence Annie Badge, of Camelford, Cornwall.
Inscription "We Have Loved Him In Life Let Us Not Forget Him In Death"
Horace was the Captain of Lancaster ED412/EM-Q of 207 Squadron at RAF Langar which was one of 13 aircraft lost of the 295 which attacked Turin on July 13th 1943. Horace had just been commissioned from his NCO rank of sergeant and this was to be his fourth operation. His plane was one of nine that was assigned from 207 squadron for this raid. The plane was shot down by Swiss anti-aircraft fire from three batteries in the Jura mountains. Mortally damaged and in atrocious weather, ED412 crashed into Le Grammont, a mountain above the town of Le Bouveret at the Eastern end of Lake Geneva (Lac Leman), killing all the crew.

George Jonathan Norris
New Zealand Field Artillery
20th October 1918, aged 35.
George was one of ten children of which three brothers served during WW1. He was living in Cambridge in New Zealand as a farm hand. He embarked on 26th June 1916 on the HMNZT 56 Maunganui, destination Devonport in England. His medical notes stated that his cause of death was a gastric ulcer haemorrhage on 20th October 1918.
Buried in Advent (St. Adwena) Churchyard, near Camelford in Cornwall.
