Location Information

The village of Coeuvres-et-Valsery is about 15 kilometres west-south-west of Soissons and nearly 11 kilometres north-east of Villers-Cotterets, a small town on the road from Paris to Soissons. The Communal Cemetery is immediately south of the church and is separated from the churchyard by a wall. Coeuvres-et-Valsery Communal Cemetery contains five Commonwealth burials of the First World War, all dating from July 1918, and the graves of six Second World War airmen. The graves are located against the left hand boundary.

Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, died 21st July 1918, aged 19. Son of William Bell Common and Isabella Common, of North Lodge, Bargany, Girvan, Ayrshire. Native of Tathhill, Kirkpatrick, Dumfriesshire. His headstone bears the inscription "For His Country He Fell"

Black Watch (Royal Highlanders), died 21st July 1918, aged 22. Son of John and Marion Greenaway, of 32, Quarry St., Coatdyke, Coatbridge.

303279 Sergeant H. Kinsella, D. C. M., M. M. and Bar, 1st/8th Bn. Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, died 21st July 1918. Husband of Mrs. M. Kinsella, of 60, Georges St., Bonhill, Dumbartonshire.

23873 Lance Corporal Robert Stewart, 1st/8th Bn. 
Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, died 21st July 1918, aged 39. 
Husband of Lizzie L. W. Stewart, of F, York Corner, Perth. His headstone bears the inscription "Father In Thy Gracious Keeping Leave We Now Thy Servant Sleeping"
