Location Information

Fouquescourt is a village 35 kilometres east of Amiens and 8 kilometres due north of Roye. Fouquescourt Old Churchyard is opposite the new church.


Historical Information

The village was captured by the 10th Canadian Infantry Brigade on 10 August 1918.

Fouquescourt Old Churchyard contains one Commonwealth burial of the First World War. The grave is located on the North West side.


Burial Details

2273345 Private G. A. James, 44th Bn. Canadian Infantry, died 10th August 1918, aged 19. Son of Alfred Ernest and Catherine Minnie James, of 6, Norwood House, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. His headstone bears the inscription "Asleep In Jesus Blessed Sleep"
