Location Information

Hailles is a village in the Department of the Somme, it stands approximately 17km south east of Amiens on the road to Moreuil (D934)

Historical Information

Hailles Communal Cemetery contains one burial of the First World War. The grave is located near the middle of the cemetery.

33rd Battery, Royal Field Artillery
31st March 1918, aged 26. 

Second son of Col. H. E. M. Lindsay, C.B., R.E., and Mrs Lindsay, of Glasnevin, Co. Dublin, and Ystrad Mynach, Glamorgan; husband of Dorothy Lindsay Lindsay.

His headstone bears the inscription "2nd Beloved Son Of Col. And Mrs. H. E. M. Lindsay. Endure Forte"
