Location Information

Prouville is a small village in the Department of the Somme, just north of the main road from Doullens to Abbeville and 4 kilometres north-west of Bernaville. In the north-east corner of the churchyard are the graves of two soldiers of the South Staffordshire Regt.


Burial Details


983 Private W. Hough, 1st/5th Bn. South Staffordshire Regiment, died 28th February 1916.

7986 Serjeant Sidney Clifford Rooker, 1st/5th Bn. South Staffordshire Regiment, died 28th February 1916, aged 23.
Son of Thomas and Ester Ann Rooker, of 128, Station Road, Brierley Hill, Staffs.
 INSCRIPTION. FOR HONOUR NOT HONOURS.
