From Bulli, NSW. A 21 year old miner prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 18th Reinforcements from Sydney aboard HMAT Demosthenes on 23 December 1915. Later transferring to the 30th Battalion, Pte Fenwick was reported missing in action at Fromelles, France, on 21 July 1916. Following receipt of his identification disc from Germany in March 1917, AIF Headquarters officially reported Pte Fenwick killed in action on 20 July 1916.

Robert Courtney Green

Son of Augustus Phillip and Jane Green, of 168, Ashley Rd., Upper Parkestone, Dorset, England. Native of London.
Originally a farmer from London, England, Green immigrated to Australia in 1909 and worked on a farm at Bolgart, WA, prior to enlistment. L Cpl Green embarked from Adelaide with the 32nd Battalion on 18 November 1915 aboard HMAT Geelong (A2). L Cpl Green was promoted to Corporal (Cpl) on 26 May 1916. Two months later on 20 July he was listed as missing in action at Fromelles and was later confirmed killed in action on this date. He was 30 years old.
In 2009 the body of Cpl Green was exhumed from an unmarked mass grave at Pheasant Wood. His body was identified using a DNA sample provided by decendants. Along with other identified remains of Australian soldiers, Cpl Robert Courtney Green was given a military funeral on 19 July 2010 in France.

Son of John Payne Griffen and Elizabeth Griffen, of Riverton, South Australia. Born at Riverton, South Australia.
A clerk from Riverton, South Australia, prior to enlistment, he was commissioned prior to embarkation with the 5th Reinforcements from Adelaide aboard HMAT Shropshire on 25 March 1916 for Egypt. His battalion relocated to the Western Front, France, in June 1916. 2nd Lt Griffen was reported as missing in action on 20 July 1916 during the Battle of Fromelles and was subsequently confirmed to be killed in action on that date. He was aged 24 years. His brother, Oswald Clement Griffen was killed in action at Noreuil in 1917, aged 22 and subsequently buried at Noreuil Australian Cemetery.

A 32 year old labourer prior to enlisting on 30 August 1915, he embarked for overseas with B Company from Melbourne aboard HMAT Wandilla on 9 November 1915. He was captured at Fromelles, France on 19 July 1916 and whilst being held by the Germans as a prisoner of war, he died that same day.

A labourer prior to enlisting on 15 February 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 14th Reinforcements of the 13th Battalion from Sydney on 16 February 1916 aboard HMAT Ballarat. He was killed in action at Fleurbaix, France on 16 July 1916.

From Kearsley, NSW. An 18 year old miner prior to enlisting on 4 September 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 3rd Reinforcements from Sydney on 16 February 1916 aboard HMAT Ballarat. He was killed in action at Fromelles, France on 20 July 1916.

From Gloucester, NSW shown wearing a proficiency badge on his right arm for Skill in Horse Driving, the design being crossed whips and spur. A 19 year old grazier prior to enlistment on 2 August 1915, Dvr Higgins embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Beltana (A72) on 9 November 1915. Dvr Higgins reverted at his own request to a Private (Pte) on 8 May 1916 in Egypt, immediately prior to embarking for France. He was reported missing in action at the Battle of Fromelles on 20 July 1916. According to his Australian Red Cross Wounded and Missing Enquiry Bureau file, Pte Higgins was "well up in the communication trench when a raid was made; they bombarded the Germans and in the counter attack Higgins got further away and was cut off by the Germans and taken prisoner". Later that year, a communication was received from the Germans which included Pte Higgins' identity disc, and a report confirming he had been killed in action at Fromelles.

A painter prior to enlisting on 15 July 1915, Pte Howard embarked for overseas with A Company from Melbourne on 9 November 1915 aboard HMAT Wandilla. After training in Egypt he arrived in France for service on the Western Front on 23 June 1916. Pte Howard was killed in action on 20 July 1916 at Fleurbaix, France, during the Battle of Fromelles.
