Location Information

​Le Raincy Old Communal Cemetery is 5.5 miles North-East of Paris. The French Military plot, in the South-East corner, immediately to the right of the entrance, which is situated in front of house number 82 on the corner of Boulevard Republique and Chemin des Postes. The plot contains the grave of one soldier from the United Kingdom who died in 1918.

Burial Details


41116 Private Alfred John Miles, 1st Bn. Worcestershire Regiment, died 1st June 1918, aged 27. Son of Richard and Mary Ann Miles, of 194, Franklin Rd., King''s Norton, Birmingham. Born at Ashton-under-Hill, Gloucestershire. His headstone bears the inscription "Until Dawn"
