A bank clerk prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Themistocles (A32) on 12 May 1915. On 29 July 1916, during the Battle of Pozieres, he was wounded in action and died later the same day at the 44th Casualty Clearing Station, France, aged 29.

Son of John and Catherine Thompson, of 51, Peel St., South Ballarat, Victoria.

His headstone bears the inscription; "Gone But Not Forgotten."


A 32 year old labourer prior to enlisting on 13 July 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 12th Reinforcements from Melbourne on 23 November 1915 aboard HMAT Ceramic. While serving on the Western Front he was wounded in action on 18 August 1916 near Pozieres, France and died of wounds on 20 August 1916.

​Admitted to No.3 Casualty Clearing Station at Puchevillers on 22nd August 1916 with gun shot wounds and compound fracture of leg. He died of his wounds the following day.

Son of Edward and Janet Watt Tolman, of 175, Davey St., Hobart, Tasmania.

His headstone bears the inscription; "Dear Owen May We Meet In The Great Hereafter, Your Loving Mother."


A 23 year old labourer prior to enlisting on 21 July 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 5th Reinforcements from Brisbane on 5 October 1915 aboard HMAT Warilda. On arrival in France, he joined the 26th Battalion and was wounded at the Battle of Pozieres, dying from his wounds on 10 August 1916.

Owen Tolman was admitted to No.3 Casualty Clearing Station on 29th July 1916 with a penetrating wound of the abdomen, he succumbed to his wounds on 10th August 1916.

A farmer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Star of England (A15) on 8 March 1916. He died on 16 September 1916 at the 44th Casualty Clearing Station, France, of wounds received in action, on 15 August 1916, aged 18.
​

He was admitted to No. 44 Casualty Clearing Station at Puchevillers on 14th August 1916 with shrapnel wounds to the left arm and leg. He died, peacefully on 16th August.
