Location Information

St. Martin-aux-Bois is a village situated in the Department of the Oise, 5 kilometres south of the D938 which links the N17 Senlis/Roye and the Creil/St. Just-en-Chaussée road. The church is in the centre of the village and the churchyard contains one burial of the Great War.

Burial Details


304916 Private Frank Robinson, "A" Company, 17th Bn. Tank corps, died 11th June 1918, aged 21. Son of Thomas and Alice Robinson, of Cherry Tree Cottages, Cholesbury, Bucks. His headstone bears the inscription "Thy Will Be Done"

One of the few british soldiers who died during the Matz Battle and the counter attack of General Mangin. Private Robinson was in an armoured car.
