Son of Col. Gordon Gordon-Hughes (92nd Gordon Highlanders) and Elise Elizabeth Spencer (formerly Gordon-Hughes), of Austin, Manitoba. A member of the First Canadian Contingent. Recommended on the Field for a Commission but died before being gazetted. Native of Hampstead, London, England.
