From Ballarat, Vic. A moulder prior to enlisting in July 1915, Pte O'Callaghan embarked from Melbourne with the 11th Reinforcements on board HMAT Nestor (A71) on 11 October 1915. He arrived in France for service on the Western Front in April 1916. Pte O'Callaghan was transferred to the 11th Machine Gun Company on 20 January 1917. He was killed in action during an air raid at Poperinghe, Belgium, on 29 September 1917. He was 22 years of age.

​Note: Australian War Memorial states that he received a Military Medal for his actions at Messines. The CWGC listing does not mention an award.

Son of William Henry and Liza Tandy; husband of Isabel Tandy, of "Oaklea," Hope St., Bathurst, New South Wales. Born West Maitland, New South Wales.

From Bathurst, NSW. A 23 year old mining engineer prior to being appointed a Second Lieutenant in the Mining Corps on 9 November 1915, he embarked for overseas with No 1 Company from Sydney on 20 February 1916 aboard HMAT Ulysses. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 15 June 1915 while serving with the 1st Australian Tunnelling Company. Lt Tandy was killed in action at Poperinghe, Belgium.

Went as Mining Engineer to South Africa in 1911. Fought in German South West Africa.

Died of wounds 13 June 1917 at Poperinghe. He was hit by a shell on the way to the trenches during the battle of Messines. He was mentioned in Dispatches (London Gazette 18 May 1917) by Sir Douglas Haig.
