TUFF Cecil Thomas - Captain Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment) "D" Coy. 3rd Bn. attd. 1st Bn. He was shot through the head and killed instantly at about 3am while leading his company in the attack on Hill 60 near Zillebeke 18 April 1915 Age 29. He was previously commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial Panel 45 and 47, Captain Tuff is now known to be buried in Oosttaverne Wood Cemetery Plot VI. B. 4. Son of Charles Tuff, J.P. and the late Mary Ann Tuff, of Westfield, Singlewell, near Gravesend, Kent. Brother of
TUFF Frank Noel - Second Lieutenant Royal East Kent Yeomanry. Seriously wounded in a bomb accident at Helles on 23 October 1915, and died in Malta 5 November 1915 Age 25. Buried at Pieta Military Cemetery Plot D. II. 1. Youngest son of Charles Tuff, of Westfield, Singlewell, Gravesend, J.P., late M.P. for Rochester, by his wife, Marian, daughter of George William Gill; born Rochester County Kent.
